Exemestane is used in bodybuilding and in sports in general, mainly by athletes who take anabolic and androgenic steroids. It is used mainly during severe steroid courses, as an adjuvant, in order to prevent the development of estrogenic side effects or to eliminate them.

In turn, in medicine, it is prescribed mainly in the treatment of breast cancer in women or in the treatment of its symptoms to reduce risks.

Aromex 25 mg Description

This antiestrogen is an irreversible steroid inhibitor of aromatase, similar in structure to such a natural substance as androstenedione. It belongs to the third generation of aromatase enzyme blockers, regularly used today for the treatment of various diseases (mainly in oncology). The third generation also includes anti-estrogenic drugs such as anastrozole and letrozole.

Exemestane (Aromex 25 mg) exhibits a mechanism of action similar to other means of its group: it irreversibly binds to a fragment of the aromatase enzyme, resulting in its inactivation, which in turn leads to a decrease in estrogen levels. According to medical practice, blocking the formation of estrogen hormones by inhibiting aromatase is one of the most effective selective methods for treating hormone-dependent breast cancer in women during postmenopause, and not only.

For athletes, the effect of Aromex 25 mg is also significant, consisting in a certain increase in the concentration of FSH and LH in serum. This improvement, presumably, develops at the level of the pituitary gland according to the feedback principle, when a decrease in estrogen stimulates the secretion of gonadotropic hormones and, as a result, testosterone.

It is important to note that exemestane, as an antiestrogenic drug, does not have estrogenic or progestogen activity. Only a small androgenic activity was detected, observed mainly when using high dosages.

This antiestrogen used in tablets does not affect the synthesis of aldosterone and cortisol in the adrenal glands, which confirms the selectivity of its effect.

Possible side effects of Aromex 25 mg

Can exemestane tablets themselves cause side effects? Acceptance of this drug may be associated with the occurrence of some deviations. In particular, its use can lead to nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting or diarrhea from the digestive system. From the side of the central nervous system, side effects are possible – sleep disturbance, headaches and dizziness. Sweating, fatigue, musculoskeletal or joint pain, swelling of the lower extremities may also occur.
